Growth and Innovation Strategy

As industry growth becomes increasingly difficult, businesses must find new means of attracting customers and driving growth.

We help companies identify how their organisation can grow through organisational design. By rethinking business models and developing innovation and supporting strategies, we support clients as they experiment with new categories, channels, or business models to fuel sustainable growth.

Innovation plays on the strengths and the culture of an organisation, so its approach and alignment will be vital to its success.

Our Business and Organisational Design teams work closely with companies to develop a strategy for innovation and draw roadmaps for future growth.

We assist business leaders in figuring out what innovation means for their organisations, how it will impact their businesses, and what it will take to engage and become successful in the new ventures.

Organisational Design

Organisatinoal design is the process of aligning an organisation’s structure with its mission, not merely its culture.

This means affecting the complex relationship between tasks, workflow, responsibility and authority, and making sure these all support and drive the objectives of the organisation.

Good and successful organisational design helps communication, productivity and innovation.

It creates an environment where people can work effectively and efficiently.

Within this organisational behaviour is all about describing, understanding, predicting and controlling human behaviour in this organisational environment.

The purpose of organisational behaviour is to gain a greater understanding of the behaviour of all the people within an organisation and how their behaviour affects the performance of the organisation.

The outcome for management in an organisational development and organisational behaviour process is to be able to control, predict and explain employee behaviour.

Corporate Governance

Corporate Governance is the combination of policies, systems, structures, and a strategic operational framework which the governing body puts in place to ensure the leadership of the organisation makes appropriate decisions and takes appropriate actions to deliver services in an effective and accountable manner.

Governance therefore boils down to two fundamental aspects:

ensuring sustainability, and

ensuring the relevance of the organisation’s products and services.

We favour the Cortex model of Corporate Governance in that it is outcomes based and focuses on accountability, but we will research, advise and implement the best possible governance structure for your organisation.

Corporate Design

Corporate Design methodology includes our attention to the following:

Define: State the desired outcome, specify the customer set, identify the goals, and outline the process.

Measure: Decide what parameters need to be quantified, work out the best way to measure it, collect the necessary data, and carry out the measurements by experiment.

Analyze: Identify gaps between actual and target performance, determine the causes of those gaps, determine how process inputs affect outputs, and rank improvement opportunities.

Improve: Devise potential solutions, identify solutions that are easiest to implement, test hypothetical solutions, and implement actual improvements.

Control: Generate a detailed solution monitoring plan, observe implemented improvements for success, update plan records on a regular basis, and maintain a workable employee training routine.

We use this in all areas of the organisation including:

• Structure
• Leadership
• Culture
• People/Talent
• Technology
• Capabilities
• Processes &Policies
• Decisions

Change Management, Turnaround, Rescue Operation

The difference between these three interventions, is the timing that management decides that change is necessary. With Change Management, management decides to act to improve the organisation. With a Turnaround process the organisation probably has no other option but to act immediately and with a Rescue situation, decline and distress has set in and its too late for current role players.

Change management is the fundemental rethink of all processes within the organisation. When organisation are in decline or haveing difficulties , and management does not have processes and procedures in place to benefit from trading operations.

Risk Management

We see Risk Management as a critical element of effective project management.

A well-executed Risk Management process reduces the number of problems that actually arise during a project, ensuring smoother delivery against your timetable.

We start by anticipating what might go wrong, so that action can be taken to reduce the likelihood of the event occurring or to reduce the impact if the event occurs.

As risk experts we can guide you in applying right risk management technique for your activities. We’ll then help you keep track of actions and new risks throughout the life of the project.

Partner & Supplier Management

Outsourcing business services is an attractive proposition as it creates opportunities for cost savings, reduced infrastructure and technology assets, and access to skilled resources across a range of functions such as Finance, HR & Marketing.

However, the decision to outsource is not the ‘easy option’. There are a number of risks that may materialise depending on how suppliers are initially engaged, brought on board and managed on an on-going basis.

We can help with partner and supplier management, from initial strategic advice, through identification of outsourcing delivery and vendor requirements, and ultimately to on-going delivery.
